TCU Unveils Vision for Campus Expansion, Transforming Fort Worth Landscape

FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Christian University is shaping the future of its campus with a bold expansion plan designed to enhance student life, modernize facilities, and redefine its connection to the city.

“TCU has built a powerful brand, attracting highly qualified students from diverse backgrounds,” said Jason Soileau, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Planning, Design, and Construction. “It’s essential that our facilities support their growth and development.”

A key component of this transformation is the redevelopment of multiple parcels along West Berry Street, where select buildings will be removed to create a striking new eastern gateway to the university. This revitalized space will include a scenic park and green space seamlessly linking TCU to Fort Worth’s Trinity Trails.

A New Urban District

Beyond the campus expansion, West Berry Street is set to evolve into a dynamic, multi-use urban district that reflects TCU’s distinct character.

“This area will become unmistakably TCU in its aesthetic, offering market-driven upper-division student housing, high-end retail, and potentially office spaces,” Soileau explained.

Growing Student Population

Currently, TCU enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduate students, a number expected to surge to 15,000 by 2033. The expansion aims to accommodate this growth while maintaining the university’s sense of community.

Students are eager to see how these changes will shape their alma mater.

“We’re known as a smaller university, but adding new buildings and expanding the area could attract even more talented students,” said Cade Elliott Jr., a current TCU student.

“I think it’s really exciting,” added student Olivia Pena. “Even though I won’t be here much longer, it’ll be great to return and see how the campus evolves.”

Looking Ahead

TCU will continue unveiling details of its master plan and expansion efforts in the coming weeks, setting the stage for a transformative new era for the university and its surrounding community.
