Stubie Doak is the most recent addition to the WBAP Morning News. Nobody can seem to find the logic in that decision, but he’s very happy to be here.
Stubie is a Dallas native – an Oak Cliff boy – so, yes, he has a pocket knife if you need one.
Stubie’s radio career (mostly on-air) started in McKinney, Texas in 1980; followed by 34 years in the DFW market – with a stop in Columbus, Ohio in the middle of all that. The last 14 years have been with WBAP producing commercials, promos, and parodies. It’s the third item on that short list that provides us with Stubie’s main job description: give us the point-of-view of a four-time concussion sufferer who should be on Ritalin…but isn’t.
Stubie didn’t attend college, but his wife, Robin, did; so there’s at least a little residual smarts in there somewhere. Also, he is the proud father of two daughters; Dani and Riley.
Stubie likes to travel, work in the yard, play drums, and watch hockey. And he thanks God every day for everything you’ve just read.
