NEW ORLEANS – A pro-Palestinian protester was detained during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday night at Caesars Superdome.
Photos from the event show the individual holding a Palestinian flag inscribed with the words “Gaza” and “Sudan” while Lamar performed his song TV Off. The protester, dressed similarly to the backup dancers, stood atop the 1987 Buick Grand National GNX— the same vehicle Lamar used for his entrance—blending seamlessly into the performance before security intervened.
Images captured from the scene show security personnel detaining and escorting the protester away. Despite the incident, the show continued uninterrupted, and it does not appear that the protester was visible in the broadcast of Lamar’s performance.
Unanswered Questions:
- The identity of the protester remains unknown.
