Lightning strikes on major monuments in New York and Washington, D.C., on New Year’s Eve have sparked a flurry of reaction on social media, including from several supporters of President-elect Donald Trump, with many interpreting them as a powerful omen, reports Newsweek.
“U.S. Capitol Building struck by lightning as we close out 2024 and head into 2025,” wrote Christian Ziegler, a Trump supporter and former Republican National Convention delegate, on X. “God is sending us a message.”
