
DALLAS – A man is recovering after being shot while driving along a Dallas highway Wednesday night, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were flagged down around 10:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Main Street in Deep Ellum by a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities say the vehicle he had been driving was riddled with bullet holes.
The victim told officers he was traveling along Interstate 45, just south of downtown Dallas, when someone in another vehicle began shooting. He sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and exited the freeway in search of help, eventually encountering police nearby.
Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation remains active.
