Fort Worth Restaurant Inspections Reveal Health Code Violations, Including Closures and Roach Infestations

A recent round of restaurant inspections in Fort Worth uncovered serious health violations, leading to the closure of ten eateries and roaches being found in three others. The inspections, conducted between February 9 and February 22, included a total of 491 establishments.

The city’s restaurant inspection system operates on a demerit-based scoring scale, where a perfect score is 0 demerits. Any restaurant receiving more than 30 demerits is required to address the most severe violations immediately and rectify all other issues within 48 hours.

Among the establishments that received concerning scores, three restaurants each earned 34 demerits:

In addition to these high scores, ten restaurants were ordered to close due to serious health code violations:

  • My Thai Place (4310 Western Center Blvd.) – Two of three refrigerators were unable to maintain proper food temperatures.
  • Domino’s Pizza #6948 (8808 Camp Bowie West Blvd.) – The restaurant lacked hot water.
  • Wingstop #982 (237 NE 28th St.) – The establishment also lacked hot water.
  • NY Pizza & Pasta (11477 Woodland Springs Dr. Ste. 155) – Closed due to a clogged floor drain.
  • Busybee C Store (3221 Loving Ave.) – The restaurant had no running water.
  • Cafe Momento (1200 6th Ave.) – No hot water was available.
  • El Estufon Mexican Restaurant LLC (6220 Hulen Bend Blvd.) – No hot water was available.
  • Paleteria La Mexicana (3307 Azle Ave.) – The restaurant lacked hot water.
  • Wild Acre Brewing Co. (1734 E El Paso St. Ste. 190) – No hot water was available.
  • Kimpton Harper Fort Worth (714 Main St.) – Water supply was disconnected.

In addition to the closures, 24 restaurants underwent follow-up inspections, with four receiving repeat violation warnings.

These findings highlight the importance of maintaining proper health standards in the foodservice industry. Restaurants are encouraged to address any violations promptly to ensure the safety and well-being of their patrons.
