DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police in Dallas are searching for an inmate who bolted from the Dallas County Jail on Wednesday night.
It happened while a group of inmates were dumping trash into a compactor outside.
Edgar Jaquez Moreno, 24, was in jail for a handful of nonviolent crimes, including car theft, burglary and failing to identify.
He also had an immigration hold.
Police are searching the area around the jail at Commerce and Riverfront.
Traffic on westbound Interstate 30 is a parking lot because the exit to Riverfront is closed. At one point, the backup extended into Mesquite.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is assisting in the search.
