DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A mural honoring the five police officers who were murdered in early July was unveiled Sunday night.

The painting on a building off 3rd Avenue in Dallas depicts the memorial-style black and white American flag with a blue strip underneath the stars.

Within each of the white stripes is a design that the artist said symbolizes the fabric of the law enforcement community.

There are also five empty, blue chairs mounted atop the building, representing a permanent seat overlooking Dallas for each of the five fallen officers.
