DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The search for a man who reportedly fell into Bachman Creek and disappeared is now a search and recovery operation.

About 2:15 this afternoon, Dallas Fire Rescue got a call that a man had slipped on the creek bank and fell in.  At that time, heavy rain was falling, and the already-swollen creek was running even higher and faster than earlier in the day.

“In situations like this, it’s all hands on deck,” said Jason Evans with Dallas Fire Rescue.  “And though we have resources with boats besides our Swift Water Rescue Team; all those members train for situations like this on a daily basis.”

Witnesses told police they tried to hold a stick out for the man, who’s possibly homeless, but he lost his grip on it.

After about two and a half hours of combing the river with boats, DFR pulled the team out.  Police continued to patrol the creek bank, looking for signs of the man.
