PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A lawsuit against the City of Plano over its redevelopment plan will move forward.
City officials initially asked that the suit be tossed out, but a judge refused.
The fight is over the “Plano Tomorrow” proposal. It was first presented in 2013 and highlights council’s desire to move from a suburban community to a big time city. More than 4,000 residents signed a petition against the plan saying that it included too many apartments.
The suit claims the city and its leaders refused to follow proper procedures when it came to calling for a citywide referendum on the issue.
