Sam Putney 3/29/16; The Most Superficial Trait that can keep You out of the White House

samputneyon-airRemember when Donald Trump asked on camera could anybody imagine a “face like that” in the Oval Office, referring to Carly Fiorina? Well, that may very well may have resonated more than we know with voters.

Looking back on the election in 2008, along with the use of social media, Barack Obama may only be in the White House because of his looks and swag…someone so different to look at than

Hillary Clinton at first and then Mitt Romney.

Now comes along Donald Trump and his primary campaign tool is downgrading his opponents.

Marco Rubio became known as “Little Rubio” and Ted Cruz became “Lying Ted” and viewership of the Republican debates became huge money-making top hits on T.V. because of Trump’s mouth, hair, tan, expensive suits and red power ties but mainly because of his insults and maybe, just maybe his supporters started thinking twice about Ted Cruz because of his looks. Even Bill Maher described Cruz on his show as “someone who smiles like a person who is both ashamed and proud at the same time of pooping his pants and just last night my wife and I, at dinner, overheard a couple in the booth behind ours talking about Cruz’ appearance, saying he looked like a strange bedfellow that can’t be trusted.

Now, Trump has begun to draw more voters to his events than everyone in the race on both sides of the fence because his supporters have so strongly connected with him not being politically correct,so much so that they’re smacking his protesters in the face as they are escorted out of Trump rallies.

Also, Trump has gone on record as saying if he doesn’t win the G.O.P.nomination, there will probably be riots.

So, if I’m right, it’s going to be Trump versus Hillary Clinton, his equalizer because she’s a woman. We’ve had our first black president in Obama. Could it be time for our first female president or a businessman who’s life has been spent on making deals with any and everybody?…not to mention he was on his own popular television show, “The Apprentice” and we all know that if you’re on a popular television show, most people consider you a star and maybe that’s what voters feel we need right now…a rich television star who can make the whole world feel like Rodney King…

“Can we all just get along?”. We’ll soon see.
