I grew up in Dallas, so I’ve seen Christmases where there was snow on the ground and some when I could wear shorts and a t-shirt. I remember how much fun it was to know school was canceled because of snow. One year, I was maybe 6 or 7 years old, we were out for a snow day and my friends and I rolled around in the snow, went sliding down the neighbor’s huge hill that was their front yard and just had a fantastic day.
It’s nice to see kids today having that same reaction when they see snow for one of the first times. It takes some of the everyday pressure off of adults to see kids who are having fun and enjoying themselves just because some frozen white stuff is on the ground. To all North Texans; Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
