WASHINGTON – (WBAP/KLIF) – No injuries reported, but it seems Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C, just can’t catch a break lately.
Two planes clipped wings today on the runway; one headed to JFK International Airport in NYC, the other, to Charleston, S.C.
Three lawmakers were aboard the plane, and after “the plane shook violently”, as posted, used the opportunity to decry cuts at the FAA, noting passenger safety. Both planes returned to the airport and an investigation into the collision is underway.
Aboard the impacted planes, Representative. Nick LaLota, R-N.Y., Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., and Representative Grace Meng, D-N.Y.
Reagan has been under scrutiny since January, when an American Airlines plane and an Army helicopter collided near the airport, killing everyone on board both aircraft.
