Multistate Police Collaboration Finds Missing 12-year-Old Girl in Madison

Police found her with a ‘juvenile male’ and are working to determine if charges are warranted.

MADISON, Ala. — A 12-year-old Texas girl who went missing Sunday has been found in Madison, Alabama, following a multistate search, authorities said.

Alison Ramirez-Lopez was located by the Madison Police Department on Monday morning. She was found with a juvenile male, though his age has not been disclosed, according to the Irving, Texas, Police Department.

Authorities are investigating to determine if any charges will be filed.

The search began after Irving police received a report that Alison had left her home at 10 a.m. Sunday to attend a nearby birthday party but never arrived. Police suspected she may have been with a boy and that the two had crossed state lines. While the situation did not meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert, law enforcement agencies in Alabama and surrounding states were notified.

Officials credited the successful recovery to the collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies.

Efforts are now underway to reunite Alison with her family.
