Governor Abbott Deploys Firefighting Resources To Assist California Wildfire Response Efforts

(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – Governor Greg Abbott is deploying more than 135 firefighters, emergency management and medical personnel, as well as more than 45 fire engines, ambulances, command vehicles, and equipment to California as crews battle ongoing wildfires in the southern part of the state. This deployment is coordinated under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, which is a state-to-state mutual aid system that enables states to provide assistance and share resources with another state in response to a disaster or emergency.
