National – Update as of 6:20PM – Fox news has called Kentucky and Indiana for Donald Trump. Kamala Harris wins Vermont.

6:35 Republicans pick up one senate seat and Trump wins West Virginia according to FOX News. Polling places in Georgia, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia, along with the remaining polls in Indiana and Kentucky are now closed.

7:00 Polls now closed in North Texas and many states, including Pennsylvania. Fox has called South Carolina for Trump.

7:14 Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Florida and Tennessee for Trump. New Jersey has been called for Harris.

7:35 (AP) Republican Rep. Beth Van Duyne has won reelection to the U.S. House seat representing Texas. Van Duyne was the former mayor of the Dallas suburb of Irving and is getting her third term in Congress. She has been a critic of the Biden administration over immigration. Earlier this year she took out a newspaper ad urging police officers in New York to move to Texas. And she joined state Attorney General Ken Paxton in 2022 in suing the federal government to end pandemic mask mandates for airline travelers.

8:15 The Associated Press has declared that Democratic Rep. Marc Veasey has won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Texas. Veasey has served the Dallas-Fort Worth-area district since 2014. He was the second Texan and the first member of the Congressional Black Caucus to openly call for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the campaign. This set the stage for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic nominee. Veasey serves on the House Energy and Commerce and Armed Services committees.

8:25 The Associated Press says Republican Craig Goldman has won election to a U.S. House seat representing Texas…. holding the seat for the GOP. Goldman previously served in the Texas Legislature. He defeated Democrat Trey Hunt and will replace Rep. Kay Granger, who decided not to seek reelection.

8:45 Dallas Prop S allowing citizens to sue the city currently passing by just over 3%. Prop T proving for performance based pay for the city manager failing 58% to 41%. Prop U adding money to the police and fire retirement fund and requiring a set number of police officers (4,000) failing 52% to 48%

It would also eliminate the ability for the mayor to run for mayor again after serving the maximum 2 four year terms.

10:25 Proposition R is passing by a wide margin. It prohibits Dallas Police from making arrests or issuing citations for less than 4 ounces of marijuana. It also prohibits probable search and seizure based on the presence of the odor of marijuana except as part of a felony narcotics investigation. The proposition was supported by Willie Nelson. Attorney General Ken Paxton has, in the past, sued Texas cities over ordinances to deprioritize marijuana enforcement.
