Talk show legend Phil Donahue dies at 88 after a long illness. His family says Donahue died Sunday night, surrounded by his family including Marlo Thomas, his wife.
“The Phil Donahue Show” ran from 1967 through 1996; he was the first to incorporate audiences in the talk show; influential, tackling tough topics. He won a Peabody awared in 1980, and 20 Emmy Awards over his career.
