Fort Worth Seeking City Board Applicants

The City of Fort Worth is seeking applicants to fill various vacancies on its boards and commissions.

Members of City Boards and Commissions play a major role in providing resident oversight and input to staff and elected officials on a variety of issues.

Qualified applicants are needed for the following:

Aviation Advisory Board- Members advise on plans of any extensions, improvements, and additions to the airports system and its master plan, review the Aviation Department’s annual operating budget, and other duties related to the city’s airport system.

Board of Adjustment – Commercial- Members hear and decide cases where it is alleged there is error in any requirement, decision, or determination made by the Building Official in the enforcement of ordinances.

Historical and Cultural Landmarks Commission- Members administer the City’s Certified Local Government Program, hold hearings and recommends to the City Council that certain structures and property be designated as Historic Structures, and other duties related to historic structures in Fort Worth.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Commission- Members provide recommendations on pedestrian and bicycle plans, policies, programs and projects to improve the environment for non-motorized travelers.

Zoning Commission- Members act as an advisory board to the City Council in regard to zoning matters within the City of Fort Worth.

Library Advisory Board- Members recommend plans for development of Library facilities and services to meet the needs of the City, and review the Library Department’s annual operating budget and capital improvement requests.
