Farmers Branch Presents Glow in the Dark Park

A glow in the dark park is coming to Farmers Branch!

Joya at Oran Good Park is the first of its kind in the area, and will be revealed to the public on Saturday, January 20th at 6:30 p.m. at 13300 Dennis Lane.

“We kind of based it around maybe sort of Disney at night, where they use the lighting system that kind of glows at night a little bit,” Deputy City Manager, Michael Mashburn, said.

He adds that their desire for increased night activity is a result of both climate change and the extreme Texas heat. They’re hoping this new playground will boost both the cities foot traffic and economy.

“One of the big reasons we’re doing this is to bring people back out of their homes and off of the screens and get together as a community,” Mashburn said. “Not only will the residents of Farmers Branch enjoy this, but people all over the area will certainly experience what we have to offer and perhaps find a new place to come visit.”

Mayor Terry Lynne is also expected to attend the event.
