(WBAP/KLIF) — What began as a promising future for two teenagers in love, turns into both spending their lives in the penitentiary, 30 years later.
The man accused of killing an American Airlines executive in a love triangle, murder-for-hire case has been found guilty. 49-year-old Darrin Lopez was sentenced, Friday night, to 62-years in prison and given a $10,000 fine. Lopez drove from Tennessee to Dallas to kill the husband of his former high school girlfriend in October of 2020. On Friday evening, the 49-year-old disabled Army veteran received his sentence from Judge Brandon Burmingham.
The sentence caps off a sad tale of two high school sweethearts, Jennifer Faith and Darrin Lopez, who reconnected in a love-triangle-murder-plot where they are now virtually in prison for life for killing the woman’s husband. Jennifer Faith is already serving a life prison sentence for pleading guilty to orchestrating the killing.
