(WBAP/KLIF) — General Motors is giving back to the City of Arlington.
The GM Assembly Plant just announced it’s providing $160,000 in grants for community development and STEM education. Plant Executive Director John Urbanic said in a statement “We’ve called Arlington home for nearly 70 years and grants like these play an important part of the connection between the community and our plant. We succeed together, and we overcome challenges together. We’re honored to support the community in which we live and work through each of these Community Impact Grants.”
Among those receiving grants, $50,000 is earmarked for UT-Arlington, $30,000 each to Arlington ISD and Community Learning Center for the education of veterans, while Arlington Life Shelter will receive $20,000. $15,000 each will go to Junior Achievement of the Chisolm Trail and SER Jobs for Progress National Inc.
Since 2019, the GM Assembly Plant has donated $880,000 to the Arlington community.
