Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Across parts of the metroplex severe storms produced up to 90 mile per hour winds, heavy rain, lightening and large hail.
Power was knocked out to over 35,000 Oncor customers across the utility’s entire service area. In the DFW metroplex, Collin County bore the brunt of outages and damages from the storm with some 5,000 customers out as of around 7:30 a.m. today. Elsewhere in Tarrant and Dallas counties combined, under 1,000 outages were reported.
No injuries were reported town of Lavon, about 16 miles east of Plano, where a roof collapsed at an Independent Financial Bank. The Lavon Fire Department and three officers responded to the scene.
Collin County was under a Tornado Warning at the time, around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday night, but it is not confirmed that the damage to the bank is tornado-related.
