UPDATED: 6/12/23 3:30AM

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department has discontinued an Amber Alert for a 7-year-old girl who was reported kidnapped Sunday evening.

At around 1 a.m. Monday, the department said that the child was “located and safe.” Police did not provide any details about how and where she was found nor details about the suspect or suspects.

Additional details provided by ‘sources’ to reporter Rebecca Lopez from our media partner, WFAA-TV are that the girl and her 9-year-old brother were walking to a store in the 1100 block of West Kiest Boulevard early Sunday afternoon when they were approached by the suspect in an SUV. The suspect reportedly offered to give them a ride. Once they got in, the girl’s brother was reportedly “tricked” into getting out of the vehicle and the suspect drove off with the 7-year-old still inside.
