FWPD: Woman Shot After Threatening Officer with Knife

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A Fort Worth police officer shot a woman last night who reportedly threatened him with a knife.

It happened around 11:30 at an apartment complex on Greenspoint Drive near Sunny Brook Drive on the city’s East side where calls of a woman trying to kill herself were reported.

According to a press released from the FWPD, the initial call details stated that the caller was “bleeding out” and that she was “trying to kill herself.

The first officer on scene made contact with the caller at her door. During their interaction, the subject picked up a knife. As the interaction continued, the officer perceived a deadly threat from the subject and fired their firearm, striking the woman.

The subject was transported to a serious but stable condition. No officers or any other persons were injured during this incident.

A knife was recovered at the scene.
