DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Dallas Police revealed the identity of the man who climbed a 150-foot crane in just west of Trinity Groves and remained there for more than 24 hours earlier this week.
A construction worker found 49-year-old Paul Jamison on top of the crane located on Singleton Boulevard near Conklin Street Monday morning on a construction site.
Dallas Police, SWAT and Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the scene throughout the day.
After more than a day of negotiations with police, he was placed into a harness and lowered by Dallas fire-rescue around 7:45 Tuesday morning.
Investigators said Jamison had a self-inflicted cut to his abdomen but it was non-life threatening and appeared to be in distress.
He was placed into police custody and taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
Early Thursday morning, Dallas Police said Jamison is now charged with criminal mischief, a state felony and faces $20,000 in damages and inconvenience to Uperia USA, who operates the crane. He allegedly caused damage to a seat in the cab of the crane, according to the affidavit.
There’s still no details on why Jamison climbed on top of the crane.
