DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The man who camped out on top of a crane on a West Dallas construction site for more than 24 hours is in Police custody.
The man was spotted by a construction worker on Monday morning and remained on top of the crane until Tuesday morning.
“The man remained on the crane throughout the entire night,” Dallas Fire-Rescue said in a statement. “According to personnel with direct contact, he became more cooperative with DPD personnel as the circumstances began to take their toll on him.”
After being medically evaluated, the man was placed into a harness and lowered with a member of the DFR USAR team around 9:30 Tuesday morning. The patient was then taken to a rescue unit and transported to a local hospital, in custody, to be evaluated.
It’s not clear why the man climbed the crane, which is located near the intersection of Singleton and Sylvan, west of Trinity Groves.
