(WBAP/KLIF) — Jurors have found a Garland man guilty of capital murder in connection with the murder of three teenagers over a year ago. 34-year old Richard Acosta, Jr. testified this week that he had no idea that his then 14-year-old son Abel had a gun, or that he allegedly fired shots into a Garland convenience store
Acosta told the court that while running errands on the day after Christmas 2021, he stopped at the store to buy Tylenol for his wife. He said that his son suddenly tried to get out of their moving vehicle to confront some kids he knew about a necklace that had been stolen. The jury found him guilty after a few hours of deliberations.
