GRAPEVINE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – The severe storms that swept across North Texas Tuesday morning brought heavy rain, damaging winds and spawned several tornadoes.
The situation prompted a shelter-in-place at Grapevine-Colleyville ISD schools after some lost power and an evacuation at Grapevine Middle School.
Grapevine MS students were bused to First United Methodist Church due to roof damage and a water leak sustained in this morning’s severe weather.
There was an earlier report of a gas leak in the outside of the athletic wing of the building. The gas was turned off and everyone was evacuated from that portion of the building.
The district had asked parents not to head to the church until it sends a notice that the students have arrived.
The district also decided to release students at Cannon and Dove Elementary School for parents who were able to come and pick up their students.
