Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Legendary actor of stage and screen Sidney Poitier has died at the age of 94. The Bahamian Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed his death.
Poitier, broke numerous Hollywood barriers in the 1950s and 1960s and in 1964 became the first Black man to win the Oscar for best actor. The award was for the classic movie “Lilies of the Field.”
Details on the cause of death death were not immediately released.
