EULESS (WBAP/KLIF)- The wife of fallen Euless officer Alex Cervantes has been released from JPS hospital in Fort Worth.

Sergeant Scott Peterson with Euless PD said in late November, Detective Cervantes was off-duty with his wife Priscilla Cervantes and their two boys when a suspected drunk driver ran a red light and slammed into their car. He died on scene. Priscilla has been in the hospital ever since.

“She had a lot to get through and the doctors said she made a miraculous recovery in such a short amount of time. To see her be able to go home before Christmas to be with her two boys was just awesome to see,” said Peterson.

Peterson said Priscilla will still need time to heal but the support form the community has been very touching.

“I can’t even put words to what she was feeling and feeling now and then to be home and relive all of what she has gone through and continue to go through but as a department we are a family and we are going to support her every step of the way,” said Peterson.

The driver, 26-year-old Dylan Molina was charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
