Louie Gohmert Running for Texas AG

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- East Texas Republican U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert has announced he’ll be running for Texas Attorney General.

Gohmert announced earlier this month that he would join the GOP lineup against incumbent Ken Paxton if he could raise $1 million in 10 days and he did.

“Thank you, thank you so much, I’ll have what I need to launch this campaign, I’ll need more of course but this will get us started,” said Gohmert said in an announcement video.

Gohmert is at least the fourth GOP primary opponent that Paxton will face, at least three democrats are also running.

“My priority will be election integrity so that every legal vote counts,” he said. “Though our current AG has had two terms it seems he really started working harder after so many of his most honorable and very top people in the AG’s office left, complaining of criminal conduct,”

Gohmert said he will start boldly protecting Texan’s rights on day one.
