DALLAS/FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – UPS is hiring 100,000 seasonal workers for the upcoming holiday rush, with more than 100 jobs available in the DFW Metroplex.
The Atlanta-based worldwide shipping company is offering full and part-time positions and said many potential employees could be hired in 30 minutes or less.
UPS said the positions, which include package handlers, driver helpers and personal vehicle drivers, pay between $15 to $22 an hour depending on the location of the job. The hiring spree comes at time when many employers are finding it difficult to fill positions.
Numerous companies are adding perks on top the salaries to entice job seekers to join their ranks. In a statement, UPS said these seasonal positions could turn into a long-term career.
“UPS has a track record of turning seasonal jobs into careers. Over the last three years, about one-third of people hired by UPS for seasonal package handler jobs were later hired in a permanent position when the holidays were over, and about 138,000 current UPS employees-nearly a third of the company’s U.S. workforce-started in seasonal positions,” said the company.
The company encourages all candidates applying for a seasonal job to get a COVID-19 vaccine. UPS said it’s followed all World Health Organization guidelines for essential workers since the pandemic began.
