Frisco ISD Offering Temporary Online Option this Fall due to Covid-19

FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF)-  Due to rapidly changing conditions related to COVID-19, Frisco ISD will have a temporary online option this fall for FISD students in grades EC-6. This opportunity is only available for in-District students whose primary residence is located in Frisco ISD. An online option will not be offered to students in grades 7-12 since the COVID-19 vaccine is authorized and strongly encouraged for all individuals age 12 and older.

Students who enroll in the online learning option will have a two-day delay to the start of the school year and will begin online classes Monday, August 16. On-campus instruction will continue to be available as the default learning environment for students in all grade levels starting with the first day of school next Thursday, August 12.

Online learning will be an option for grades EC-6 at least through the first nine weeks of school and will be reevaluated and extended as necessary until a vaccine is authorized for children under the age of 12. Once a vaccine becomes widely available for children under 12, online instruction will no longer be offered.

Families who are interested in having their EC-6th grade student(s) attend classes online will need to submit an application via the Student Portal to enroll no later than this Thursday, August 5 by 11:59 p.m. A submitted application will automatically enroll a student in the online learning option and unenroll the student from in-person learning.

No action is required if you would like your child to attend classes on campus. If you do not complete this process by the deadline, it will be automatically assumed that your student will participate in on-campus instruction during the 2021-22 school year.
