DeSoto, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas-area teen has been charged with manslaughter in a crash that killed a Dallas ISD official earlier this month.

DeSoto Police say that 42-year old Hanan Ali-Lacy died in the June 6 crash when a car driven by 17-year old Jackson Norkendric smashed into his vehicle at the intersection of West Pleasant Run Road and Ray Andra Drive.

A recreation of the accident scene determined that the teen was driving over 90 miles-per-hour in a 40-mile per hour zone at the time. He was taken into custody without incident on Monday.

The victim served as the Assistant Director of Education for the Dallas ISD and was a well-loved mentor to many students.

An emotional memorial and balloon release was held for Ali-Lacy at Kimball High School.
