At Least One Republican Lawmaker Calling on the Texas GOP Chairman to be Fired After Calls to Secede

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Angered by the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the Texas case challenging election results in four states, Texas GOP Chairman Allen West on Friday suggested Texas should secede from the Union.

The SCOTUS decision marked one of over 50 court denials related to Trump campaign cases alleging voter fraud.

In a written statement, West said, “This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the U.S. Constitution and not be held accountable.”   “Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together together to form a more perfect Union of states that will abide by the Constitution.”

Multiple Secretaries of State on both sides of the isle, along with U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr have said that there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

West comments were condemned by many Democrats and at least one Republican lawmaker. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who represents Illinois’ 16th district, tweeted that the Texas GOP “should immediately retract this, apologize, and fire Allen West and anyone else associated with this.”
