(WBAP/KLIF) — Reports of a recent hospitalization rate surge in Texas apparently hasn’t affected the Dallas area hospital capacity. Hospital capacity in the Dallas area continues to hold steady during the Coronavirus pandemic.
A recent report released by Dallas mayor Eric Johnson shows an increased number of available hospital beds and ventilators compared to two weeks ago. The report gathers data from the 25 Dallas area hospitals and shows that there were 50 more beds available Friday than there were on October 24th.
However, ICU bed capacity did increase from 76% to 77%, Friday, while ventilator use fell from 38% two weeks ago, to 37% now. Dallas area hospitals have a total of over 6,800 beds and nearly a thousand ventilators.
