Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – In Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a GOP candidate with ties to the unfounded QAnon conspiracy theory and a track record of incendiary rhetoric, won a primary runoff.
In a Twitter post Taylor Greene said:
“I’ve made all the right enemies. The Fake News Media hates me. Big Tech censors me. The DC Swamp fears me. Now Soros and the Dems are trying to take me down. I’m running to Save America and Stop Socialism.”
The outcome leaves Greene well positioned to win a congressional seat in the fall. Greene’s primary win marks another QAnon victory and puts national Republicans in the difficult position of how to respond and whether and to what extent they will support a conspiracy theory-touting nominee who’s also made comments using Islamophobic and anti-Semitic tropes.
“QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory detailing a supposed secret plot by an alleged “deep state” against U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters.” -wiki
Republican voters also selected a candidate in a campaign for a Minnesota congressional seat in a district that went for President Donald Trump in 2016 by a wide margin and is currently represented by endangered Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson.
President Trump tweeted congratulations to Taylor Green this morning:
Congratulations to future Republican Star Marjorie Taylor Greene on a big Congressional primary win in Georgia against a very tough and smart opponent. Marjorie is strong on everything and never gives up – a real WINNER!

Last month, another QAnon supporter, restaurateur Lauren Boebert defeated five-term incumbent Rep. Scott Tipton for the GOP nomination in Colorado’s Third District.
Meantime, in Minnesota, Trump nemesis, Democratic freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, a member of the progressive Democratic “Squad,” prevailed in her fight to keep her seat
Omar defeated a well-funded Democratic challenger in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District on Tuesday against challenger Antone Melton-Meaux.
