Balch Springs, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in Dallas has upheld the murder conviction and 15-year prison term for former Balch Springs officer Roy Oliver.
Oliver is serving 15 years for the 2017 murder of Jordan Edwards. he was a passenger in a car leaving a party police were breaking up. Oliver fired his rifle at the car, killing Edwards. he said he thought the car was going to hit his partner, officer Tyler Gross.
The appeal said mistakes were made in several different aspects of the investigation and there were issues with the trial.
