DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) — Texas restaurants will be able to operate at 75 percent capacity starting Friday.
Anna Tauzin is with the Texas Restaurant Association and said 75 percent isn’t necessarily reality.
“Take a look at a restaurants footprint. Reconfigure the tables as much as you want, 75 percent doesn’t truly mean 75 percent because of the social distancing requirements,” said Tauzing.
According to research done by the Texas Restaurant Association, 94 percent of restaurant operators say their total dollar sales volume during the period of May 1-15 was lower than it was during the same period in 2019.
81 percent of restaurant operators have laid off employees and reduced the number of hours worked and 60 percent of restaurant operators say it is unlikely their restaurant will be profitable within the next six months.
