Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Republican representative John Ratcliffe will almost certainly become President Trump’s newest Director of National Intelligence today.
The U.S. Senate will vote on Ratcliffe’s nomination, and while the vote is expected to fall almost entirely along party lines, that will be enough to confirm him.
Ratcliffe was almost guaranteed confirmation when democrats dropped their objections to a quick vote. Senators in both parties want a Senate-confirmed nominee in the post that’s now filled by Acting Director Richard Grenell.
Grenell has raised concerns on capitol hill by overseeing a shakeup in the intelligence community.
