Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas Police officer was shot Saturday night by a wanted felon who later killed himself. It began on South Westmoreland Road when officers tried to stop a man they knew was wanted for at least two felonies. He fled, driving the wrong way up Westmoreland until he crashed into another vehicle. The suspect opened fire as he got out of his wrecked pickup, hitting the Dallas officer in the hand. The suspect fled on foot, but his body was found a short time later in the backyard of a nearby residence. He had shot himself. The Dallas officer was hospitalized in stable condition.
