Fort Worth Bar Owner Defies Governor’s Order

(WBAP/KLIF) — Owners of Texas bars, gyms, and salons remain closed due to governor Greg Abbott’s order. But, nearly two months later, businesses are beginning to defy the order to stay afloat.

A Fort Worth bar was shut down by authorities, Saturday, after it re-opened against the statewide order.  Thirsty Armadillo owner Fred Barnett opened for business on Friday, but was ordered to close by the Fort Worth code department. The Stockyard’s bar reopened on Saturday when authorities cited him.

Barnett says many business owners are suffering unbearable hardships and government officials need to help small businesses.According to WFAA, two other bars in Fort Worth were also shut down by the city’s code department.
