DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – While some critics of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s phased approach to reopen the state say it’s too soon, others believe it’s not quick enough.
Demonstrations continued on Tuesday demanding the state reopen now, despite it being among a limited number of states to get back to business. Rally goers filled Dealey Plaza in Downtown Dallas to call for more businesses to open.
“Georgia is ahead of us, Oklahoma is ahead of us, Tennessee is ahead of us,” said a protest organizer. “We want Texas to be leading the way.”
The protest came days ahead of retailers and restaurants being able to open statewide under limited capacity come Friday. According to Governor Greg Abbott, salons and bars will have until at least mid-May before opening their doors.
