Coronavirus Curve Begins to Level Off in DFW, Safe Practices Encouraged

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – More coronavirus deaths were reported on Wednesday in DFW, but according to doctors, “the curve” is flattening.

Dallas County reported one additional coronavirus death on Wednesday, and two more people died from the virus in Tarrant County. Across DFW more than 5,300 cases have been reported since the pandemic began. At least 141 people have died.

The good news for the metroplex, however, is that Dallas County Medical Director Phil Huang said this week that cases are leveling off with continued social distancing.

“While we mourn the passing of our 65th Dallas County resident who has died from COVID19, today’s numbers are encouraging as they are 10% lower than yesterday’s, and each day thus far this week, the numbers have been lower than the average daily new cases reported last week,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. “Our challenge will be to continue to make good personal responsibility decisions and limit exposure as more activities resume.”

Dallas county reports the most COVID-19 cases in the metroplex with over 2,600, followed by Tarrant County with more than 1,400. More than 1,100 people have tested positive in Collin and Denton county’s combined.
