Texas’ proposed bullet train may be delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic

Dallas (WBASP/KLIF) – Progress on the proposed bullet train between Dallas and Houston is now uncertain because of the coronavirus worldwide outbreak. Just a few weeks ago developers were saying groundbreaking was possible this year, with completion expected by 2026. However, Texas Central now says the pandemic has taken a toll on its partners in Italy, Spain and Japan, and that has thrown off the company’s plans in Texas. It has been forced to layoff more than two dozen of its small force of employees. Texas Central’s C.E.O. says it will be ready to move forward when the financial markets have stabilized, but he cannot predict when that will be.
