DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The infamous “Leaning Tower of Dallas” is no more, after falling to the ground Monday afternoon.
The tower became an internet sensation after it was left behind from a planned building implosion February 16. In the days and weeks that followed people from North Texas and beyond flocked to the site near HWY 75 and Haskell to get a selfie with the tower.

“It’s not often that you see an imploded building,” said one visitor. “We came all the way here from South Dakota.”
The leaning tower became the subject of internet memes and t-shirts. It’s popularity made national news.
After a week of anticipation, crews began chipping away at the structure with a wrecking ball. That process took longer than many people thought and drew criticism toward the demolition company. But, a week after that process began the tower finally came down.
