FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – More uniformed Police Officers may be spotted in coming weeks at North Texas churches.
In the wake of last week’s deadly church shooting in White Settlement, the Fort Worth Police Department is allowing and encouraging Officers to wear their uniforms to church services they attend on their own.
In the wake of the local attack on the West Freeway Church of Christ last Sunday, as well as the attacks on Jewish communities and church services nationally, Chief Kraus is authorizing and encouraging our officers who attend worship services to do so in full police uniform.

Officer Brad Perez said having more uniformed officers in a church can provide comfort and safety to congregants.
“A lot of people will have a sense of relief seeing an armed Officer in the congregation but we also want to be sure to have permission from the church so we are asking Officers to check with the church first.”
Several churches across North Texas had an extra Police presence Sunday.
