Every year, a few restaurants and organizations across the Metroplex open their doors to offer a free Thanksgiving meal for those in need.
In Dallas, Norma’s Cafe will serve a few thousand meals between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at their Oak Cliff location at 1123 West Davis.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early.

Another Dallas restaurant, Slow Bone BBQ, will host its 6th annual “Freebird an Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner Event” for anyone in need. Homeless, first responders and other residents can load up on savory barbeque and sides.
The dinner will be served at Slow Bone at 2234 Irving Boulevard and runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Statler Hotel in downtown Dallas has joined forces with Operation Forever Free to host a free Thanksgiving meal for first responders, civil servants, veterans and their immediate famlies.
Guests can dine on the feast in the hotel’s ballroom at 1914 Commerce Street from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Salvation Army will serve more than 1200 Thanksgiving Day meals for free to the homeless and families who can’t afford the holiday meal.
Volunteers will serve a traditional dinner with all the trimmings at a location in Dallas and Fort Worth from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Dallas location is at 5302 Harry Hines Boulevard.
The Fort Worth location is at 1855 E. Lancaster Boulevard.
