Mesquite Police Arrest Middle School Student for Making Online Threat to MISD Schools

MESQUITE  (WBAP/KLIF News) – UPDATE: The Mesquite Police Department arrested a 14-year-old middle school student after allegedly making threats on social media.

Lieutenant Stephen Biggs said it was directed at West Mesquite High School and then ultimately at Frasier Middle School.

Biggs said  investigators were able to track down the source of where the post was made.

“The post was very vague it said something bad would happen at Frasier Middle School and West Mesquite High School Monday, it was enough to cause alarm,” he said.

He said the student, who attended Frasier Middle School, is charged with false alarm of a report, a state jail felony. “Student safety is the top priority and the Mesquite Police Department and MISD and we want to make sure every campus is as safe as it possibly can be,” Biggs said. “With things that are going in in the world today and with shootings that are happening here and in other states, everything needs to be taken seriously and these are felony offenses when they post things like this,” he said.

Lieutenant Stephen Biggs with Mesquite Police said a “vague” threat was made to West Mesquite High School and Frasier Middle School.
