GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF) – UPDATE: Garland Police have released and have not filed any charges against a man who’s accused of shooting and killing a driver during a road rage incident Thursday.
Lieutenant Pedro Barineau says the suspect turned himself in and police interviewed him and other witnesses on scene. “There’s more in this investigation that we can’t discuss at this time but after the suspect spoke with detectives it led investigators to believe it wasn’t just the suspect shooting the gun,” Barineau said.
It’s unknown if the suspect was using self defense. Barineau said it’ll be up to a grand jury to decide if any charges will be necessary.
According to Police, witnesses saw two drivers get into an argument while driving on Centerville road just after 12 p.m. Thursday. It’s not known exactly what led to the dispute.
“When the vehicles approached Northwest Highway shots were fired from a black pickup truck into the other vehicle, killing the other driver,” Officer Pedro Barineau said.
